5 Unique Travel Destinations You Have to Visit

You could assume that everyone travels, but over three-quarters of Americans actually want to travel more. So if you’re going to go to the effort of embarking on an exciting vacation, you should ensure that your destination is worth the trip and expense. Be sure to choose unique travel destinations for a one-of-a-kind experience!

Wouldn’t it be amazing if your next vacation experience was truly unique and memorable? You could return home with incredible stories about your adventures abroad and make memories to last a lifetime. Check out our ideas for unique places to consider for your next vacation.

1. Madagascar, Africa

Even though the animated movie might have made people more familiar with the country, it remains off the radar for a lot of vacationers.

However, there are numerous reasons to consider the island off the coast of East Africa as the destination for your next vacation. If you’re obsessed with the natural world, then there are few places on Earth that can compete with the biodiversity in this region.

It’s not only for the wildlife that you should visit Madagascar. The beautiful sandy beaches, lush forests, and friendly locals could make this an amazing experience.

2. Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

While many travelers make their way to South-East Asia to explore Thailand and Bali, they rarely venture to Malaysia. However, the Malaysian capital city is quite remarkable. From the thriving nightlife to the bustling shopping streets, Kuala Lumpur has just about everything you can ask for.

You can also visit the National Museum or see the famous Petronas towers. Here, there is fun for the whole family. You can have an adrenaline rush at Kidzania KL before heading back to one of the many swanky hotels.

3. Glasgow, Scotland

Many Americans have roots in Scotland yet when young Americans spend their summers in Europe, they usually skip Glasgow. It may not have the glamour and history of Edinburgh. However, it’s much cooler and more down to earth — and it’s actually the largest city in Scotland.

You can dine and listen to local music in one of the many pubs, or visit art galleries and explore the amazing streets and buildings. With its thriving shopping districts and stunning West End architecture, you won’t run out of things to do and see.

4. Georgia, Eurasia

As an American, you might be confused to hear that Georgia isn’t just a US state. The country of Georgia is located on the historic Silk Road. This is European culture like you have never experienced it before. You’ll be welcomed in Georgia by the locals as a “gift from God” as is the cultural norm.

The beautiful surroundings, delicious cuisine, and friendly folk will make you never want to leave your vacation while you’re in this unique country. Plan to see sights like the amazing Narikala Fortress or Vardzia (an ancient cave city) to experience places unlike any other.

5. Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

There is nowhere quite like the Brazilian city of Rio de Janerio. Any snapshot of the city is instantly recognizable. The enchanting landmark of the Christ the Redeemer is famous around the world.

If you arrive in the city during February, you may catch the world-renowned carnival in which everyone gathers on the streets for fun. But there are also botanical gardens, the Tijuca National Park, and Ipanema Beach to round out and enrich your experience.

2 places on your list that are definitely on our “Must Travel To Next” list from Canada. Africa & Scotland! We were planning on Tanzania & Zanzibar this Fall, but will have to wait until we can all travel safely once again.
